The California Ski Industry Association (CSIA) is a non-profit trade association representing 29 snowsports areas in California and Nevada. Our role is to support California and Nevada resorts by coordinating state and national legislative activities, risk management and technical training on behalf of the industry.

In the summer of 2006 the CSIA, in partnership with Sierra College, launched a new training program for lift maintenance technicians. Ropeway Mechatronics, or “RoMec” trains technicians in the principles, components, symbology, and troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and machine control systems as they relate to passenger ropeways.
